This unit is called “Greed” and in it, we looked at what happens when industrialized nations get greedy and start looking for more resources, land, and power. In this unit we covered the beginning of the 20th century through WWI, focusing specifically on imperialism and WWI. In terms of my inquiry, this is a great juxtaposition to the Oppression/Advocacy Unit because in this unit students are asking to do less creative work and more analytical connecting with the material. Students struggled with the analytical aspects but were able to emotionally connect to the plight of the imperialized people.
